The cornerstones of our consulting services are our practice assessment tools and process that facilitate gathering critical practice operational and financial information enabling us to evaluate practice needs and make recommendations related to operational processes, performance metrics, systems, etc. Another key aspect of this offering is the opportunity to provide 'on-the-ground' support to our clients to implement short-term recovery recommendations discovered during Phase I of the Practice Assessment as well as to service the client through implementation of long-term recommendations, e.g., process redesign, system selection, etc.

We help clients optimize the setup, configuration and usage of the practice management system. You will receive detailed analysis and improvement recommendations for both the database elements and format setup as well as for system usage throughout your operation.

We perform an analysis of the practice to establish a baseline of operational and financial performance metrics that are compared to both industry standards and MSI's internal metrics. MedSynergies has developed a tool and a process to capture the elements required for the coding audit. As part of the process, the client submits copies of dictation, history & physical, and charges for 20 visits per provider. (Business Associate agreement will need to be completed in advance.) Once the audit and analysis of the results are complete, a report is developed. We identify trends which may be impacting reimbursement and causing potential compliance issues. Follow-up education on report findings are reviewed with the providers by a senior level certified coder who conducted the audit.

Process redesigns improve the patient experience resulting in increased patient satisfaction and improved revenue. The process redesign methodology is constructed to streamline and improve the overall revenue cycle management process starting with the first point of patient contact during scheduling, pre-registration, and benefits verification through point-of-service cash collections, charge entry, claims processing, A/R follow-up and denial management. The elements of a sample Process Model include:
Pre Point-of-Service: first point of contact with the patient at appointment scheduling through pre-registration and benefits verification
Point-of-Service: Activities begin with the check-in process prior to the patient seeing the physician through patient check-out
