John R. Thomas

President and Chief Executive Officer

John R. Thomas serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of MedSynergies.  Mr. Thomas has been with MedSynergies since its inception in 1996 as senior vice president and managing director of development.  While at MedSynergies, Mr. Thomas has held prior executive positions such as senior vice president and chief financial officer and has been a member of the board of directors since 1999.

Prior to joining MedSynergies, Mr. Thomas was the vice president of the newly formed Healthcare Finance Group for Bank One, Texas, N.A..  He was also the assistant vice president for Texas Commerce Bank, where he focused on corporate finance activities for emerging healthcare companies.

Mr. Thomas is a national speaker and author on topics such as hospital-physician alignment, revenue cycle management and management services organizations. Mr. Thomas received his Master of Business Administration, with honors, from The McCombs School at The University of Texas Graduate School of Business.  While at The McCombs School, he was named as the Sword Scholar and received the Dean’s Academic Award.  Mr. Thomas received his BA in Zoology from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He is a member of Healthcare Financial Management Association, Medical Group Management Association, and serves as the Treasurer and board member of the Dallas Fort Worth Hospital Council.  In addition, Mr. Thomas serves as a board member or advisory board member of The Danny Thomas Company and Dallas County Community College Healthcare Initiative.  Mr. Thomas has served in a number of charitable organizations and capacities over his career and is a founder and board member of Camp MaGIc, Inc., a charitable organization dedicated to providing a camping experience for children challenged with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (“IBD”).  Mr. Thomas resides in Dallas, Texas with his wife and two daughters.
