About the Speakers

John R. Thomas, President and Chief Executive Officer
John Thomas is President and Chief Executive Officer at MedSynergies, Inc. Since the inception of MedSynergies in 1996, Mr. Thomas has held positions including the Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Development, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and is a member of the Board of Directors. Prior to joining MedSynergies, Mr. Thomas was the Vice President of the newly formed HealthCare Finance Group for Bank One. He was also the Assistant Vice President for Texas Commerce Bank, where he focused on hospitals, emerging healthcare markets, core finance and revenue. Mr. Thomas is a national speaker on the topics of revenue cycle management, billing and collections processes and capitalization, raising funds, bank debt, turnaround and high/low debt revenue, as well as other strategic topics. Mr. Thomas received his master of business administration with honors from the University of Texas Graduate School of Business, where he focused on finance and management. Mr. Thomas received his bachelor of arts from the University of Arkansas.

Frank Marshall, Chief Operations Officer
Frank Marshall oversees the information management and technology divisions at MedSynergies, focusing on integrations, accounts receivable follow-up, payment posting, data and information to determine the right business processes and measurements. Prior to joining MedSynergies, he was Vice President of Planning and Control at The Associates Financial Services Company, Inc., where he was responsible for financial analysis, financial reporting and accounting. Mr. Marshall holds a master of arts in Business Administration from St. Mary’s Graduate School of Business and a bachelor of arts in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin.

William Murray, Chief Financial Officer
Bill Murray oversees the accounting, treasury, financial analysis, risk management, budgeting, taxes, and human resources group of MedSynergies. Prior to joining MedSynergies, Mr. Murray was the Chief Financial Officer of Allegro Development Corporation, in addition to roles at Richmont Marketing Specialists and the Allied Irish Bank. Mr. Murray received his master of business administration from Columbia University Graduate School of Business and his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University College Dublin in Ireland.

Clayton Harbeck, Senior Vice President, Sales, Marketing, & Consulting Services
Clayton Harbeck oversees the sales, marketing, and consulting services groups at MedSynergies. He has more than 25 years of sales and marketing experience in the technology sector where he has been instrumental in building and leading sales organizations and processes. During his career, Mr. Harbeck has held a variety of sales and marketing positions in organizations ranging in size from 150 to 5,000. In addition to his experience with mergers and acquisitions, he has also held global executive management positions. Prior to joining MedSynergies, Mr. Harbeck was Vice President of Sales for Affiliated Computer Systems, Inc. and held executive sales positions in Savvion, Inc., Covansys, Inc., EDS, Inc., and Perot Systems, Inc. Mr. Harbeck received a bachelor of science in Social Science from Illinois State University.

Marian Dalton McMeans, Vice President, Consulting Services
Marian Dalton McMeans directs the consulting operations to medical group practices on revenue cycle management, financial and operations analyses, risk management, technology services, strategic planning, process improvement and compliance at MedSynergies. Ms. McMeans has been primarily involved with consulting engagements on behalf of hospitals and health systems, managed care organizations, ambulatory surgery centers and physician organizations. Her engagements have encompassed a broad array of projects, including financial and operational assessments, benchmarking, process redesign, strategic planning and system selections for physician practice management systems, electronic medical record systems and core claim systems. Prior to joining MedSynergies Ms. McMeans was with First Consulting Group, where she lead consulting engagements for national and regional health plans, including United, Humana, PacifiCare, NASCO, BCBS Association, Texas Children’s Health Plan, Shands and several of the Blues plans. In addition to health plans, her healthcare consulting work included Allina, University Health System Consortium, Christus, Baylor University Medical Center, Tenet and Childrens’ Medical Center Dallas. Previously, Ms. McMeans worked with Perot Systems in the healthcare sector.

John Boland, Vice President, North American Region
John Boland leads the sales division in advising specialty medical groups, ambulatory surgical centers, rehabilitation centers, independent practice associations and physician practices on selecting revenue cycle services such as financial analyses, risk management, technology services, and payment processing and reporting. With more than 15 years of experience in revenue cycle management and many years of providing recommendations to healthcare organizations on strategic planning, Mr. Boland has delivered successful solutions to meet the unique challenges facing physician’s practices, medical groups and hospital practices. Prior to joining MedSynergies, Mr. Boland directed national and regional client services with IDX Systems Corporation, where he provided quality revenue cycle outsourcing solutions to medical group practices. He received a bachelor of arts in Economics from the University of Chicago.

Steve Corso, Vice President, Southeast Region
Steve Corso is vice president of the Southeast Region at MedSynergies where he is responsible for advising healthcare organizations, medical groups, ambulatory surgical centers, rehabilitation centers, independent practice associations and physician practices on revenue cycle management and strategic plans. Prior to joining MedSynergies Mr. Corso served in leadership positions directing the financial and operational analyses and practice management for multispecialty organizations (private and integrated). Mr. Corso received his bachelor of science in Business Administration from Indiana University.

Denise Henderson, Director, Consulting Services
Denise Henderson directs the strategic planning, change management, organizational development and performance improvement initiatives for MedSynergies Consulting Services group. Combined with years of experience leading healthcare organizations and consulting with medical group practices and senior executives, her expertise gives her unique insight into the needs and challenges facing healthcare organizations and physician practices. Prior to joining MedSynergies, Ms. Henderson was owner and principal consultant with Equanimity Consulting, where she orchestrated a competitive market analysis for a hospital system and developed business plans for a healthcare communications company. She has also served in senior executive roles with ProvidaCare, LLC and The Beryl Companies where she lead the strategic direction of several initiatives specific to benchmarking and organizational development for physician practices, hospitals, and health plans. She received her bachelor of science in Marketing from Miami University.

Steve Haller, Director, Revenue Cycle Management
Steve Haller advises healthcare organizations and physician practices on revenue cycle management. As director of revenue cycle management Mr. Haller provides private, integrated, and academic healthcare organizations an array of experience ranging from revenue cycle management, operational analyses, risk management, and systems integration. As a result, healthcare organizations and physician practices have noted improved productivity and reduced costs, meeting their strategic organizational and practice goals. Prior to joining MedSynergies, Mr. Haller held leadership roles in healthcare organizations where he provided consultative services specific to information technology, systems integration and revenue cycle management. Mr. Haller received his bachelor of arts in Business from Wittenberg University.
